Phishing Schemes Alert
In addition to the above links, we would like to alert our clients about recent “Phishing Schemes”. In recent years these schemes have increased and will likely continue to increase as our world becomes more technologically orientated. CRA notes that there are several scams circulating whereby personal information is requested. CRA notes that it will never request, by email, personal information of any kind from a taxpayer.
“Phishing Schemes” are not limited to CRA content. It is important, that you review all of your communications requiring personal information for legitimacy before providing what is being asked.
If you come across any suspicious communication you should report it to info@antifraidcentre.ca or to the institution that the communication appears to be from.
